WORLD ORDER ”2012” (by Crystal Navigation)

is this in mexico?

ahhh i love this band what the hell!

and they finish at trotskys grave?  this is so like, emotionally resonant and smart and classy and original, man

I’m also aware that will.i.am ripped off this style for “thatPOWER”, which proves that the biggest video budget in the world can’t buy the positivity and sense of joy you get from watching these guys do their thing.

WORLD ORDER ”PERMANENT REVOLUTION” (by Crystal Navigation)

this is the greatest thing I have ever seen

literally.  this appeals to everything i appreciate

and it sounds like the postal service and has amazing choreography and has this really like, wonderful pleasant earnest vibe.

this is the most surrealist yuppie piece of art that has ever existed.  ah <3

this fully represents and embodies the concept of surrealist yuppy-ism

i just love how positive it is

An utterly amazing and beautiful piece of cinema.

Like your dad’s old dependable hammer, the Sunshine Cinema Club keeps on going, to the extent that this is our twentieth, iron-clad episode!

Featuring reviews of Iron Man 3, The Iron Giant and The Man With the Iron Fists.
(and no Jeremys)

Last month, I interviewed London-based singer-songwriter Jimmy Livingstone live on Sunshine Radio.
Being my first on-air interview, it didn’t go too badly! I dare say we had fun!
You can hear it for yourself here.

Angelina Jolie had a double mastectomy, in case you hadn’t heard. How dare she remove those ticking time bombs from her chest, amiright? Like, hasn’t she learned by now that her body is public domain and we all get to vote on what she does with it? Sheesh, how selfish can ya get.

As I type this, I’m making preparations to host this week’s edition of the Sunshine Cinema Club. Marcus is away doing important, hospital radio-related stuff, so it’s fallen to Ben and I to run the show ourselves.
And I. am. bricking it. Time will tell if we pull it off.

In the meantime, here’s episode 19 which is, hands down, our best one yet. During our review of The Place Beyond the Pines, we all seem to really engage in a conversation with one-another, rather than simply waiting to read from our notes, like usual. It felt great to be a part of that moment, and I hope it comes through to those of you listening.
There’s also reviews of Midnight Run and Silver Linings Playbook.

I’m still here: back online after a year without the internet

As I hinted the other day, I’m occasionally tempted by the idea of ‘quitting the internet’, and wondering what sort of effect it would have on my day-to-day life.
Well, Paul Miller actually did it, and his experience…was a surprising one. A must-read article.

One Day More, from Les Miserables, performed on kazoos.

You’re welcome!
