By now, you’ve probably noticed the audio widget at the top of the page, so I’ll skip the preamble and get down to business (they’re a pain to write anyway).
Round about early September last year, I started volunteering for Sunshine Hospital Radio, in an effort to do something that didn’t involve staying at home all day. Turns out it’s a great station full of great people, and you should definitely consider signing up if you’re in the area.
Anyway, having since been inducted as a full member, I was given the chance to programme my own show. After taking some time to think up a concept, I cam up with this:
Somethin’ Else - Lesser-known tracks by your favourite artists, and lesser-known artists that may become your new favourite.
Snappy, right? The first show went out last Friday. The station only transmits within the hospital, so there’s no way for you to tune in live. I promised to everyone I told about the show (all three of them. Hello Mum, hello Dad, hello Stephen) I’d stick it online for others to enjoy.
UPDATE: I was asked to take it down, so I have. Email me if you want a copy. I can’t stand listening back to myself, so I’m counting on you guys to point out any areas I could improve for future installments. Constructive criticism is crucial, particularly if I ever want to get that podcast I’ve been planning off the ground (hello again Stephen).
